| Chemical formula | NH4NO3 |
| Properties | It is well soluble in water with pronounced heat absorption, also soluble in pyridine, methanol and ethanol. Contains about 34-35% nitrogen — in the form of ammonium (NH4) and nitrate (NO3) forms, which provides effective plant nutrition. Has the properties of a strong oxidizer, when mixed with reducing agents it can be an explosive. |
| Application | Main application — nitrogen fertilizer for various crops in the spring and during the growing season. Used as part of fertilizers that combine fast-acting and prolonged forms of nitrogen for effective plant nutrition. |
